Member of the Scottish Parliament supporting Canonbie Youth Group
On 3rd October 2005, a motion was put forward in the Scottish Parliament by MSP Elaine Murray which read:
That the Parliament congratulates the Canonbie Youth Group on receiving a Standing Up to Antisocial Behaviour award on 5 October 2005; welcomes the participation of two members of the group in the Protecting Communities: The Antisocial Behaviour etc. (Scotland) Act one year on conference on 3 October 2005; believes that the work of the group is an excellent example of young people empowering themselves to take a stance against anti-social behaviour by organising events for young people in the Canonbie and Langholm area; wishes the group well in its efforts to raise funds for an all-weather sports pitch for Canonbie, and applauds its involvement with Marie Curie Cancer Care in organising the planting of 26,000 daffodil bulbs to form a Roadway of Hope along the B6357 from Canonbie to Rowanburn on Saturday 8 October 2005.
